Alex maintains a broad complex commercial litigation and administrative law practice. His areas of focus include contract disputes, domestic and international arbitration, shareholder and partnership litigation, civil fraud and investigations, and appeals.
Alex has successfully represented clients before arbitrators, administrative tribunals, and all levels of court in British Columbia and Ontario, including the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. Prior to joining Poulus Ensom Smith LLP, Alex practiced litigation at a prominent national law firm in Toronto and a leading commercial litigation boutique in Vancouver.

Successfully acted for a major shareholder in a private arbitration commenced under the ADRIC Rules and seated in Toronto, leading to a favorable $15 million settlement.
Successfully assisted and represented a large parking corporation in obtaining a multi-million dollar judgment against a strata corporation for breach of contract (The Owners, Strata Plan LMS 3905 v. Crystal Square Parking Corporation, 2025 BCSC 1017 and 2024 BCSC 6)
Successfully represented the CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario in defending a $29 billion claim commenced under the Pension Benefits Act (Ardron v. Ontario (CEO of FSRA), 2023 ONFST 2)
Successfully represented the CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario in various disputes relating to the administration and distribution of payments under the Pension Benefits Act (Monteiro v.
